The Ladies’ side was formed in 1979 to perform some of the clog dances of the
north-west of England. These dances were performed in the annual carnivals and rushcart processions.

Originally the teams were all men, but by the beginning of the 20th century many girls’ clubs were forming teams and joining the carnival processions.

Some of our side also enjoy performing traditional solo clog dances.
